About the role:
We are currently looking for a Pastoral Care Officer to join our vibrant team in our Auckland City campus.  

The role will be primarily responsible for ensuring students are offered effective and timely Pastoral Care to support their wellbeing and success during their studies.  This would entail you working closely with our Trainers and Heads of Training and of course our students. This is an awesome opportunity for a person who is solution and outcomes focussed to use these skills, alongside their passion and commitment to support our students throughout their journey with us.

Position:              Pastoral Care Advisor
Location:             360 Queen Street, Auckland
Objective:           To work with our Domestic and International Students and Campus Teams in Auckland, to ensure students are offered effective and timely Pastoral Care to support their wellbeing and success during their studies
Reporting to:     Campus Manager, NZ School of Tourism
Functional Relationship with:   Heads of Training for each brand  

Key Performance Indicators
KPI #1:                  Effective & timely pastoral care support is offered to all students with the 
                             student satisfaction rating for the Pastoral Care Advisor rating a minimum of 4
                          

KPI #2:                  Retention of students meets the target of 90%  
KPI #3:                  International Students are supported to a successful outcome and processes
                             ensure Code of Practice requirements are met    
 

KPI #4:                  Behaviour and team interaction is aligned to all 6 company values  

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Pastoral Care Support for both Domestic & International Students
  • Support international students to achieve success and ensure we meet all obligations under the Code of practice
  • Support both domestic and international students through difficult personal problems and refer to relevant external agencies when required
  • Support trainers to work with all students pastoral care needs and actively ensure that seamless and effective support is provided to all students
  • Actively contribute to a positive & supportive environment for all students
  • Develop and maintain strong links with external support agencies
  • Support Head of Training with student attendance and follow up where required
  • Mentor new trainers QTime sessions
  • Run the monthly Code of Practice meetings for international students and assist them to get variations or changes to their visa if required
  • Run tours for prospective International students where and when needed
  • Manage and direct induction / orientation programmes for International students
  • Act as emergency contact for any International student concerns
  • Be a casual trainer if required to cover in emergencies
  • Complete any task given which supports the overall function and operation of the campus
