About the role:
We are currently looking for a National Sales Executive to join our team based in Auckland. This could be a part time or full time role.

The focus of the role is to promote New Zealand School of Tourism as a tertiary provider to secondary schools and the industry in order to increase sales for both the range of tertiary courses and our Level 2 range of products.

Within these key performance areas are as follows:
•            To achieve monthly Sales Targets for the Level 2 product and regional growth (by 2%)
•            To ensure secondary schools are satisfied with the Level 2 product and service we are delivering.
•            To ensure tertiary courses are being promoted at Expos across all 3 brands and that entry testing is completed to assist with meeting our EFTS quota.
•            To ensure that we are meeting our legal obligations.
•            To ensure that Star Tasters are promoted in all schools with an emphasis on exclusives in your own region.
•            Supports the values of the organisation and actively demonstrates understanding.

Skills/Experience:
• A proven track record in sales with a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience
• Experience in the tourism, travel or aviation industries essential. 

The location of the office could be flexible; the main focus of the position would be out visiting our key customers, making new contacts and developing strong working relationships.  This may involve up to 4 - nights away a month/ 48 days a year.

Salary
$58,000 – $62,000 plus bonus 

In addition the following are provided;
A vehicle which can be used privately for travel within the region, carpark, smart phone, and laptop.

Job Description

Functional Relationships with:         Campus Managers

Duties and Responsibilities:  
There are six key performance areas for the National Sales Executive. These are:
•            To achieve monthly Sales Targets for the Level 2 product and regional growth (by 2%)
•            To ensure secondary schools are satisfied with the Level 2 product and service we are delivering.
•            To ensure tertiary courses are being promoted at Expos across all 3 brands and that entry testing is completed to assist with meeting our EFTS quota.
•            To ensure that we are meeting our legal obligations.
•            To ensure that Star Tasters are promoted in all schools with an emphasis on exclusives in your own region.
 
Within these key performance areas there are a range of duties which include (but are not limited to):  

To achieve monthly Sales Targets for Level 2 product and regional growth (by 2%).
  • To work closely with the STAR Manager in the planning of strategic goals
  • To work with the Campus Managers in each region to ensure the agreed plan to visit schools is being executed
  • To maintain a call pattern that reflects calling regularly on ‘Large’ schools, ‘Small’ schools and ‘New’ schools as agreed
  • To organise appointments and any travel arrangements to visit with the schools to see, STAR Coordinator, tourism teachers and career advisors – minimum of 12 visits a week
  • Quality information is gathered on competitors products, pricings and services to assist in the successful conversion of new schools
  • To ensure flyers are sent out regularly to schools advertising STAR classroom courses in the city in which you live
  • To ensure electronic and paper record of the database is being kept which details principal, head of tourism, tourism teachers, star co-ordinators etc
  • To oversee and co-ordinate gifts, brochures and STAR folders are sent out at the correct time during the year –as agreed at the beginning of the year
To ensure secondary schools are satisfied with the Level 2 product and service we are delivering.
  • To be available particularly to ‘Large’ schools in providing solutions for any situations which arise
  • To deliver accurate and prompt quotes to schools who are looking at using our services
  • To send out evaluations to schools and students
  • To complete follow ups such as quotes and responses to enquiries
  • To give presentations to tourism classes
  • To send out to all career advisors our tertiary packs in conjunction with the local sales executives
  • To ensure tertiary courses are being promoted at Expos across all 3 brands and that entry testing is completed to assist with meeting our EFTS quota.
  • To promote the tertiary courses through the involvement in career expos throughout the country
  • To call on career advisors to promote tertiary courses
  • To do presentations to tourism classes on career in the tourism industry
  • To do open days on campus or at other venues
  • Complete a minimum of 20 entry tests outside the city you are based in
To ensure that we are meeting our legal obligations. 
  • Meeting the requirements of NZQA through ensuring that evaluations are being sent out to STAR distance learning students and returned
  • Overseeing the sending out of evaluations at least once a year and collecting them back and then overseeing the collation of these in Excel and provide a report to Management on the feedback and trends these evaluations showed
  • To ensure MOU’s are being completed
  • To complete an audit on MOU’s
  • To implement a quality check on all information being sent out to schools ensure it is of the highest standard
To ensure that Star Tasters are promoted in all schools with an emphasis on exclusives in your own region.
  • To support and back up the Sales and Marketing Executives when calling on schools in their area
  • To support the Sales Executive in your local area during the busy sales season with sales interviews
  • Follow up calls, making appointments, etc
  • Work with Campus Manager’s to ensure a minimum of 3x Hotel Tasters per year for each Campus in each region
Other tasks:
• To oversee and manage the marking of papers
• To attend conferences, staff meetings and staff training courses, all graduation ceremonies 
• To run an agreed number of professional development days
• Complete career EXPO’s at schools and at public venues throughout New Zealand (School expos are shared by the local sales executives, trainers and you, who co-ordinates this)
• To be involved in promotional activities to clients 
• Training, as required 
o As the delivery of our tertiary courses to our students is a prime part of our business and cannot be postponed, you may be asked to tutor occasionally and this would take priority
