About the role:
Our International Admissions and Student Support team is based in Central Auckland. We currently have over 2400 international students which is expected to grow and during a year we would have over 2000 students commence across our many intakes and programmes. As such we are looking build a pool of staff who we can employ on a casual relief bases to cover staff who are on leave. This would suit someone looking to work in the industry and may want to take on permanent work if available.

Job Purpose:
  • The Admissions / Accommodation / Student Support Reliever will cover for staff who are on leave 
  • Admissions Officer will respond to all enquiries and administrate international applications through to arrival providing superior levels of customer service to all customers (internal and external)
  • Accommodation Officer will respond to student and homestay family enquiries, assist with student placement, work with external accommodation providers and assist Designated Caregivers to meet our expectations of service and care
  • Student Support Officer will assist students with student visa applications, medical insurance claims and advise their Team Leader of other requests that require actioning
  • The Officers maybe the first point of contact for the customer and therefore play a key role in the student experience
Primary Responsibilities:
• Day to day handling of email, walk-in, agent and phone enquiries
• Process student and homestay applications
• Placing of students in homestay 
• Foster and develop positive relationships with counsellors from the agent network
• Accurately entering application information into the database
• Ongoing communication with agents, parents, students, homestays, …..
• Filing and archiving paper and/or digital records for all applications
• Ensuring compliance with NZQA and other relevant bodies
• Work as a part of a flexible team, who cover for each and help each other to ensure service levels are superior and consistent across all markets and teams
• General office administration as directed by Team Lead or Registrar

Qualifications & Training
  • Diploma or Degree/and or vocational training or equivalent
  • Fluent in English, desirable to have a second language relevant to region of accountability

Experience Required: 
  • Demonstrated work experience in a similar role 
  • Assessment of English and Academic qualifications
  • Well-developed keyboard skills and computer literacy with the ability to learn new systems
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with ability to prioritise completing demands and tasks in order to meet agreed service levels
  • Accurate data entry – attention to detail
