About the role:
ACG Pathways are currently seeking a part time (20 hours per week) Activities Coordinator. The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating and leading out of classroom activities for students studying at ACG Pathways Campus and the Campbell Institute Auckland Campus.  


We seek someone with a dynamic personality and the ability to provide students with enjoyable and valuable experiences. Initiative and the ability to operate effectively unsupervised are important attributes, as well as having well developed administrative and communication skills. Note that some activities may occur in a weekend.  

To be successful in this role you will have:
  • A good knowledge of the Auckland region – its landmarks, sights, attractions and activities, would be advantageous
  • The ability to interact and communicate effectively with students from abroad who have varying degrees of English

Role Purpose:
The role is responsible for coordinating and leading activities for students studying at the 345 Queen St Pathways Campus and the 3 Broadway Campbell Institute Auckland Campus.  

This role is 0.5FTE and includes the expectation that some hours will be undertaken during weekends.  

Key Accountabilities & Objectives
Planning
  • Plan and coordinate activities for students, scheduled for outside of class hours including weekends
  • Liaise with Librarian/Activities Facilitator (345 Queen St) and Campus Manager (3 Broadway) in relation to timing and other logistics 
Communication
  • Provide printed and digital advertising for all planned activities to the Librarian/Activities Facilitator (345 Queen St) and Campus Manager (3 Broadway) at least two weeks prior to the scheduled date
  • Engage appropriately with the student body through social media channels in coordination with Librarian/Activities Facilitator (345 Queen St) and Campus Manager (3 Broadway)
  • Be present in person at relevant events at both campuses to promote activities as appropriate 
Delivery
  • Lead at least one weekday activity per week for students at 345 Queen St
  • Lead at least one activity per fortnight on a Friday afternoon at 3 Broadway
  • Lead at least one weekend activity per month for students from both campuses
Safety
  • work with the Librarian/Activities Facilitator (345 Queen St) and Campus Manager (3 Broadway) to ensure appropriate monitoring and communication regimes are in place for all activities to meet Health and Safety requirements, and the Education (Pastoral Care of International Students) Code of Practice requirements
  • hold a valid First-Aid certificate
  • monitor students' needs and reporting any issues or concerns to an appropriate staff member
  • seek permissions for under 18-year-old students to attend
  • take a functioning phone on all activities
Financial
  • Administer any required monetary payments between students and activity suppliers or venues
  • Provide monthly summary of student numbers and payment information to the Librarian/Activities Facilitator (345 Queen St) and Campus Manager (3 Broadway)
