The International Admissions Officer will be based in Central Auckland and is responsible for handling the international admissions and enquiry processes for the ACG Education Group.
 
We currently have over 2400 international students which is expected to grow and during a year we would have over 2000 students commence across our many intakes and programmes. 

You need to be proactive with strong analytical skills; have a clear understanding of the academic needs and expectations; and a desire to start a career in International Student Administration.   

To be successful in this position you will be:
• A recent graduate from a New Zealand University and possibly will have been an international student
• Effective analytical, problem solving and organisational skills
• Advanced computer literacy and demonstrated understanding of software, database and internet applications
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, liaison and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop
• Effective working relationships with a diverse range of people
• The ability to speak and write in Mandarin or a language other than English is a bonus

Functional Relationships:            International Student Welfare Manager, Senior Administration Officer, Accounts Staff, Principals, Students, Parents, Agents 

MAIN PURPOSE
The position is primarily responsible for assessing and processing international student admissions for the Registrar  
  • This is a varied role with the prime responsibility of processing admissions of students
  • Assisting the Admissions Team with walk-in students and potential applicants.
  • To complete all administrative tasks efficiently
  • To set standards and assist students and International Centre as required
KEY TASKS AND FUNCTIONS
Student Admissions:
  • Admissions of students who are primarily interested in studying with  
  • Secondary area: Admissions of Students from students who walk in and make recommendations to the Registrar
  • Assist agents and potential students with admissions information and advice
  • Receive and process student applications
  • Help liaise with agents and students regarding fee payments, agent commission, student accommodation and other student pre and post arrival services as advised by the Registrar
  • Ensure that offers of place and other documents are emailed/posted/filed in a timely manner
  • Assist with student orientations as may be required at peak times
Recruitment, Customer Service and Communications
  • Responding to scholarship provider/agent/student/parent enquiries via fax, e-mail, phone and walk-in enquiries as required
  • To ensure all queries concerning course plan / billing arrangements are handled in a friendly and efficient manner and responded to within 24 hours and resolved within 48 hours.  Any unresolved matters beyond the 48 hours are to be flagged to the Registrar for appropriate actioning.
  • Assist with promotional and sales activity as required 
Systems Organisation
  • Student data management; data entry, maintenance of student information (Phoenix and CRM) and student folders, filing of country-specific information and student parent/correspondence 
Parent Services
  • Provide counselling and support as required, including the promotion and active use of ACG’s parent website as may be required
  • Assist parents visiting New Zealand and provide general support to parents as required
Other
  • Project work as directed
  • To perform all other duties as may reasonably be required by the Registrar. 
Person specification
Educational Qualifications
  • Ideally has recently completed a NZ university degree
  • Proficient with MS Office (especially Excel/Word) and excellent numerical skills
  Training, Skills and Knowledge
  • Ideally an International student who has studied in New Zealand and will now hold the appropriate visas for work in NZ
  • Relevant experience working in International Student management
  • Good administrator and communicator both excellent written and oral in English while an ability to speak Hindi would be useful
  • Ability to maintain attention to detail and accuracy and to prioritise tasks
  • Sound organisational and time management skills with an ability to make decisions when called upon
  • Commitment to exceptional customer service
  • An understanding of the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students and experience in working in International Student management would be desirable
