Purpose of Position
  • To recruit and enrol domestic students to achieve agreed targets with a focus on:
    • converting leads driven through online marketing
    • creating and converting leads through new sales initiatives
    • building relationships with careers advisors, schools, agencies and industry representatives to drive offline leads
  • To liaise with the International Recruitment support function to support student recruitment activities as appropriate
  • To help create a positive experience for learners through excellence in customer service from the very first interaction with the Group.

  • Following all marketing procedures to ensure our full-time courses are promoted
  • effectively to prospective students
  • Ensuring all TEC rules, Code of Practice and company policies are strictly adhered to

Key Accountabilities
Student Recruitment

1. Achieving the set annual targets for domestic and STAR classroom sales       
  • Recruit and enrol domestic students to achieve targets
  • Ensure that the recruitment process is conducted in a responsible and ethical manner
  • All classes are filled to a minimum of 16 students
  • All students are offered the opportunity to pathway to a higher level qualification
  • Plan and manage STAR taster dates throughout the year with the Campus Manager
  • STAR classroom courses are marketed to local secondary schools 
2. Initial and follow up enquiries are managed effectively within the set time frames
  • Contact potential students, field and manage all programme related enquiries, book interviews and tours and record outcomes
  • Responding to all incoming enquiries from prospective students (phone, email, web, online chat, text etc) within 24 hours
  • Managing all follow up enquiries within 48 hours
  • Enquiries are entered into CRM/SMS accurately and in a timely manner following the standard company procedures
  • Interview times, open day invitations and/or campus tours are offered to all prospects
  • All prospects are invited to join our social media networks
  • In-house database CRM/SMS follow-up system is used and managed effectively 
3. Ensuring all new enrolments meet the required eligibility criteria
  • Evidence is collected for proof of citizenship and age
  • Evidence is collected for proof of academic ability required
  • Pre-entry tests are completed and assessed accurately and in line with company procedure
  • Regulations set out in the Code of Practice are strictly adhered to 
4. Following marketing procedures to ensure courses, (full time and taster days), are promoted effectively to prospective students
  • Run open days in accordance with national dates
  • Attend and run career expos in the local regional area if worthwhile
  • Maintain contact with schools (Careers Advisors) regularly with newsletter updates and open day posters
  • Manage school database on Take 2
  • Mail outs to prospects (promotional Material)
  • Manage stock of promotional Material
  • A beauty talk / marketing pitch is completed to all students enrolled in a STAR classroom course, promoting full-time study
5. Ensuring all TEC rules and company policies are strictly adhered to
  • The sales procedures manual is followed
  • Any new policies advised by head office are adhered to
  • A strong understanding of TEC rules applicable to the role is maintained
  • Strictly adhering to all TEC rules
  • Advising Head Office of any procedure that may be going against a TEC rule or company policy
  • A strong understanding of the sections in the Code of Practice for international students that are relevant to this position is maintained and adhered to
General & Administrative          
  • Ensure you are fully competent in the use of all CRM / SMS systems.
  • Ensure all online enquiries received through the CRM/SMS system are appropriately recorded in in an efficient manner to allow for effective tracking.
  • Ensure all enrolments are loaded SMS within 24 hours.
  • Work in conjunction with Campus Managers to ensure all admission and enrolment information provided (written and verbal) to students accurately reflects programme information
  • Administration support – to be a back up to Administration to cover lunch breaks and other business hours they are not in the administration area
  • Trainer – to be a relief trainer in the quieter selling season for any modules that the Sales Executive meets the requirements for
  • Manage stock levels of collateral and promotional items to ensure the College can be promoted effectively
  • Fun Events – to organise and run campus events to support a fun learning environment
  • Any other duties as directed by the Campus Manager
Health and Safety
  • It is everybody’s responsibility to ensure that you and other team members are aware of, and follow IEG health and safety policies and procedures
Professional Development
  • An individual development plan with be agreed upon annually at time of appraisal with the Campus Manager. This will include an annual sales training day and specialised workshops at our annual conference.
Qualifications, Experience & Capabilities
Qualifications & Memberships  
  • Marketing or Sales Qualification
  • Beauty Therapist qualification and 2 years minimum industry experience             
Knowledge & Experience            
  • Experience in student recruitment
  • Achieving targeted sales
  • Experience utilising a CRM to track sales
  • Background in tertiary environment
  • Experience of working with Māori and Pasifika students in an education setting
Capabilities & Skills         
  • MS Office skills e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, relevant CRM’s
  • Competent in general office technology
  • Presentation skills and public speaking
Other Requirements e.g. travel, licences             
  • Full drivers’ licence
  • Required to travel to expos and recruitment events within New Zealand
