Animation College New Zealand Ltd, is an NZQA Category 1, registered PTE with an exciting vision and a commitment to industry-relevant Animation and IT programmes. We are launching our Bachelor of Animation with our partners at Yoobee School of Design at their new, hi-tech campus in Wellington, commencing in February 2018.
We are looking for two highly-motivated staff members to launch and teach into the the Bachelor of Animation (Honours) in its inaugural year of delivery. Successful candidates will be able to contribute to the development, implementation and continual improvement of our future Animation and Creative Content programmes, including the application of institutional teaching and learning requirements that are aligned to industry needs and market demand.
Our Animation Academic team is rapidly growing and we're looking for experienced 2D and 3D lecturers to join us. 3D and VFX skills should include: Maya; Adobe After Effects; rigging; and Nuke. 2D Animation skills should include: experience with practical 2D animation; knowledge of life drawing and visual communication for animation; design principles for animation; experience with Adobe Flash / Animate and After Effects. If you've got a mix of both of these, even better!
To apply you'll need the following:
Undergraduate degree to Masters level or equivalent in relevant area or discipline.
3 - 5 years' recent professional experience and achievement in the Animation and Creative Content industries.
Demonstrated record of teaching experience in a tertiary environment.
Evidence of discipline-based practice contribution (e.g. service to profession/industry/community, institutional and/or external awards).
Demonstrated expertise and innovation in a tertiary education environment, including the development and delivery of multi-mode programmes and courses in a trans-disciplinary context.
Demonstrated ability to work within teams and manage multiple projects.
Reporting to the Head of Department (Animation), the new roles will be expected to: positively and successfully develop teaching and learning strategies to deliver timely completions of programmes of study; contribute to the development and implementation of institutional strategies to improve undergraduate degree student outcomes (including retention, success, progression and student satisfaction); deliver teaching and learning outcomes aligned with key graduate attributes and outcomes; develop and leverage internal and external networks to ensure high-quality and relevant programme outcomes; ensure work-based learning projects are effectively managed so that relationships with industry are enhanced for key stakeholders; develop an industry-focussed network of teaching and learning professionals.
