Role Purpose:
The Digital & Social Media Assistant will be responsible for our tertiary education websites and social media channels in support of the vocational marketing and digital manager’s.  
This role requires a good understanding of digital marketing and social media as well as strong communications skills, attention to detail and an organised approach to assist in sustaining an engaging audience experience via our digital platforms.   Utilising a variety of digital marketing tools your day-to-day will include; website content and maintenance, digital campaign management, social media, email marketing and reporting.  
The role is the online voice of Vocational, communicating brand personality and value. This builds, engages and cultivates a powerful online presence and profile for the organisation. This creates strong and meaningful relationships with our customer groups.  
The role will be responsible for:
  • Owning the maintenance of our websites via the CMS platforms
  • Managing the social media pages in line with social strategy. Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn. Creating, editing, and posting relevant content and brand messages. Develop social media timelines to coincide with key launches and intakes.
  • Working alongside the Vocational Marketing Manager on email marketing campaigns including, design, content/copy collation, execution and list management.
  • Own the digital content plans and calendar. Ensuring that all digital content is kept relevant and that processes are in place so upgrades of information are written and added as they become available.
  • Managing and optimising online copy and content in line with SEO best practices
  • Contribute to website campaign planning and execution, working closely with stakeholders and factoring in design, layout and user experience.
  • Monitoring and reporting on digital performance using Google Analytics, Sprout Social and related tools
  • Developing and maintaining an understanding of the customer groups, their preferences, attitudes, behaviour and how this translates to user habits online.
  • Effective use of digital marketing, social media, and content planning
  • Ensure the social media channels we engage in are appropriate for the division
  • Set up optimised pages within each platform to increase visibility of our content
  • Increased engagement (daily, weekly, monthly)
  • Increased conversions via digital channels
  • Consistent generation and execution of content that builds a meaningful connection with the community 
  • Creation of calendars and schedules (annual and monthly)
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to identify key social media moments and amplify messages

  • Actively communicate with all internal stakeholders to ensure social media monitoring is being fed back to divisions

  • Implement innovative and customer specific social media and content incorporating creative and measurable on-line activity campaigns 
  • Help develop innovative material that can strengthen on-line presence (e.g. videos, photos, live event updates etc.)
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices and propose areas for investment in creative content
  • Trial new ideas, formats and platforms
  • Experiment with new technologies
  • Drive the creation of strong internal working relationships and ensure that internal customers are provided with the highest levels of customer service and ensure that internal customers are provided with the highest levels of customer service
  To be successful you will have:
  • Experience and/or training in digital marketing and social media
  • Experience working with managing digital content via content management systems (CMS)
  • Experience using major social media platforms
  • Experience or knowledge of email marketing principles and platforms is beneficial
  • Understanding of web copy and content principles such as writing for the web
  • Ability to interpret data and make recommendations based on analysis. Google Analytics experience is beneficial
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work across a matrix of teams
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • High attention to detail

  • Outstanding inter-personal skills and relationship management skills
  • A clear ability to manage multiple projects successfully
  • Experience and good understanding of the Microsoft Office suite (Word/Excel)
  • Some Photoshop experience is beneficial
  • Basic HTML experience is beneficial
  • A relevant tertiary qualification
